Just a quick thought/encouragement for pastors/preachers today ... Maybe today we're not supposed to be team-building. Maybe today we're not supposed to be developing leaders. Maybe today we're not supposed to be programming the service for the weekend. Maybe today we're not supposed to be administrating the business of the church. Maybe today we're not supposed to be building the church. (Maybe that's the Holy Spirit's job.)

Maybe today we are supposed to:

  1. Mourn the world's "lostness," and
  2. Celebrate our "foundness."

"You know that from [my] first day ... I have done the Lord’s work humbly and with many tears ... I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes. I have had one message for [everyone] alike - the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus." - Acts 20:18-21

Lord, may I not become so overwhelmed by the "stuff" of my calling or enamored by the outcome of it that I forget the purpose of it. May my life preach a great sermon today.
